Upkeep and Restoration
The upkeep of the Bridge has been supported through community efforts and many hours of volunteer work.Volunteering gives community members a chance to work together, and our visiting public an opportunity to see all the splendor that this historic bridge has to offer.
Youth have inspired others to strive to volunteer utilizing their skills to preserve not only the structure and grounds of the bridge but also the history of this historic site.

Local Youth Involvement
Volunteering at the Historical Bridge is a rewarding experience and a great way to meet people who share your interest in history as local youth have experienced.
In 1998 Boy Scout Troop 40 members volunteered and restored deteriorating boards, scraped paint, and repainted the bridge. Thanks Scouts!
Eagle Scouts Stephen Groller and Wasyl Mauser from Boyscout Troop 40 of Allen Twp, Pa have added to the beauty of the historic covered bridge via installing cobblestone pavers which beautify the entranceway of the bridge.*(additional info below)
Laying cobblestone in the entrance. *Wasyl Mauser and Stephen Grollers jobs consisted not only of actual construction work, but also of designing a plan, organizing donations of materials, and scheduling volunteer assistants for the project.Wasyl Mauser also ensured that proper products and equipment were used to assure that the olden days ambiance was preserved at the historic Kreidersville Covered Bridge. They also proudly donated numerous hours of their time constructing a versa lock wall on the grounds.
Prior to her studies at Susquehanna University, Holly Mauser could often be seen atop a Farmall tractor beautifying the bridge landscape. She looks forward to assisting during her summer breaks. Tom and Tyla Schlener, and Wasyl and Holly Mauser have performed extensive cleanup at the bridge grounds following a storm that downed trees and flooded the grounds in the past.Their donation of time for numerous preparations for the festivals is also greatly appreciated.
What they have accomplished is an inspiration to others, Their caring has benefited greatly in the the preservation of our historic Kreidersville Covered Bridge.
Thanks to local businesses that assist with donations of their time, machinery and supplies.
